Why choose a bioactive tarantula enclosure?

A bioactive enclosure is a living habitat: live plants, natural substrate and leaf litter or moss work together like a slice of the wild. It holds humidity more steadily than a bare tank, gives your animal room to dig, climb and hide, and looks like a piece of nature in your home. Every part of this kit is chosen by our team for tarantulas, so you skip the guesswork and start with a setup we'd use ourselves.

Setting up your tarantula enclosure

  • Temperature: 24–28°C; room temperature in most homes.
  • Humidity: keep the lower substrate damp and the surface drier.
  • Substrate: fill most of the enclosure so your tarantula can dig.
  • Feeding: small crickets or woodies once or twice a week; remove leftovers after 24 hours.

Tarantula enclosure kit FAQ

What size enclosure does a baby tarantula need?

Spiderlings do best in a small enclosure where they can easily find food. Move up a size as your tarantula grows.

Do tarantulas need a heat lamp?

No. Most Australian tarantulas are comfortable at room temperature, so this kit has no heat or lighting.

Do I need a licence for a tarantula?

Most invertebrates don't need a licence, but rules vary by state, so check if you are interstate.

Pairs well with: Australian Nunn's Birdeater (Phlogius sp. "Rockhampton"), Springtail Cultures, Feeder Woodies.
