Why choose a bioactive isopod enclosure?
A bioactive enclosure is a living habitat: live plants, natural substrate and leaf litter or moss work together like a slice of the wild. It holds humidity more steadily than a bare tank, gives your animals room to dig, climb and hide, and looks like a piece of nature in your home. Every part of this kit is chosen by our team for isopods, so you skip the guesswork and start with a setup we’d use ourselves.

Setting up your isopod enclosure

  • Temperature: 22–27°C; room temperature in most homes.
  • Humidity: keep one half of the enclosure moist and the other half drier, so your isopods can choose.
  • Food: leaf litter and rotting hardwood as staples, plus small amounts of vegetables, a protein such as fish flakes, and cuttlebone for calcium.
  • Depth: keep 5–8cm of substrate so isopods can burrow, moult and raise their young safely.
